Are you a practitioner or clinician interested in undertaking research or getting funding to deliver research?
Our colleagues at the National Institute for Health and Care Research Applied Research Collaboration (NIHR ARC) Kent, Surrey and Sussex have announced the next round of Individual Development Awards (IDAs), to help support individuals to build their research careers across the region. As the aims of ARC KSS are closely allied with our own, their award categories tie in with the regional health priorities that are our focus.
ARC KSS are offering a bespoke programme of support to successful applicants, including academic and/or a health or social care professional mentor, for projects which closely align with one or more of the ARC KSS research themes. Grants will be allocated to applicants that can demonstrate a clear path in their career development, as well as evidence of how this award will help them towards their research goals.
The three IDA opportunities are:
Embedded Researchers in practice: Children and young people’s mental health: ACR KSS is inviting applications from individuals to conduct an applied health and/ or social care research project embedded in practice with a focus on children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing and clear plans for using findings to benefit practice.
Funding covers up to 21 months and must align with ARC KSS Starting Well: Children’s Mental Health theme.
Closing date: Friday 31 August 2022 at 5pm.
Investment in Future Leaders Awards (Round 3): This award aims to support individuals to develop research leadership skills through conducting a small scale applied health or social care project.
Awards are for up to £20,000 each, for a maximum of 12 months. ARC KSS will fund a maximum of £15,000 with £5,000 co-funding from organisations involved in your project.
ARC KSS also has additional funding for up to six projects related to children and young people’s mental health that align to their Starting Well theme and up to eight projects across all other themes.
Closing date: Friday 30 September 2022 at 5pm.
Springboard Awards: £5,000 over six months to provide dedicated time for research development activities for individuals employed by a health or social care organisation, including: social work, private or charity and public health.
